Project Name: Storm Ceptor Installation

Location- Conway Yard, Conway PA                                        

Problem/Outcome:

Surface water outfall had contamination in effluent flow from years of refueling locomotives in up gradient area.  Infiltration into existing pipe was resulting in contamination.  In line oil/water separator needed to be installed.

Description of Work:

Separator was received on site, excavation to 18 ft deep was made, and 24 inch pipe was located at 12 foot elevation as per drawings. Ground water was flowing in at an extreme rate into excavation area and pumped directly into holding tank on site. Ground water flow could not be reduced and was more than the onsite treatment plant could handle. NSRC requested that we do not cut 24 inch pipe and back fill excavation area.
